Two New Public Computers Now Available at the Law Library!

Exciting news for all STLers! We're thrilled to introduce two brand-new public computers at the STL Law Library, situated conveniently next to the printer for easy access.

Before you dive into the exciting features of our new public computers, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Public Computer Use Policy to ensure a smooth and respectful shared environment.

Access and Eligibility

First priority for use of computers is accorded to the STL students, faculty, and staff.
Computer use is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Appropriate Use

Public computers are intended for non-commercial, educational, and research purposes. Users must adhere to the following guidelines:

Accessing and using information resources for educational, instructional, and research needs.
Respecting the rights of other users and abiding by all library policies and laws.
Using equipment in a safe manner and not damaging equipment and facilities.
Observing all laws relating to copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights.

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are unacceptable on public access computers:

Accessing or distributing illegal or obscene materials.
Altering or damaging the current settings of computers, and hacking system.
Violating copyright laws by printing, downloading or distributing copyrighted material without permission.
Attempting to gain unauthorized access to information systems or violating the privacy of others.
Installing software, which has been disabled on the public user account.

Reminder

To protect your privacy, we recommend you do the following when you finish using the computer:

Deleting Personal Files – Please remember to delete all personal files from the computer before you leave.
Exiting Browsers – Private window shortcuts are created on the desktop for both Chrome and Edge.
Browsing history will be deleted upon exiting, so please close the browser(s) to ensure that your history is completely removed.

Consequence of Misuse

Revocation of computer privileges.
Removal from the library.
Legal action.
Enforcement

The Library reserves the right to monitor computer use to ensure compliance with this policy. Library staff may ask users to leave if they are found to be violating the policy.

Revisions

This policy may be revised periodically to reflect changes in technology and library policies.

Report misuse of public computer to law-ref@stl.pku.edu.cn.

1.Launch the Chrome/Edge browser and select the "Printing" bookmark.

2.Upload your document, scan QR code, pay and print.
